Daniel Thomson originally hails from Montreal, Quebec and holds a Bachelors degree in History and Classical Studies from Bishop’s University, also in Quebec. He has experience as a Researcher, Production Assistant, Programming Assistant and Production Coordinator with Great North Productions, Alliance Atlantis, The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and Amerimage Productions and has worked with Ballinran since the fall of 2006. When not chained to his desk, Daniel enjoys skiing (alpine, cross-country and backcountry!), sailing, golf, mountain biking, soccer and most other sports. He has been known to indulge in the occasional pint of Guinness and is a fan of the arts and literature – he is currently working his way through Don Quixote and plans to tackle War and Peace next.

Nancy Carter, Researcher

I confess to having the affliction of being interested in almost everything – so becoming a documentary researcher was the perfect job for me. For over a decade I’ve worked on international series and specials for Discovery Channel, National Geographic Television, History Television, CBC and PBS.

My favourite projects are the science, technology and history stories that put a strong human face on the events and issues. Before working in documentary television, I had another dream job: traveling the world working on cruise ships. It was even more fun than it sounds.
